What you need

bunch fresh chives

tsp table salt

bacon

tbsp unsalted butter

tsp garlic powder

tbsp dijon mustard

tbsp cream cheese

cup sharp cheddar

head white onion

egg

croissant
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lay your bacon out on a baking sheet with tinfoil, trying not to overlap them. As your oven is preheating, thinly slice your white onion. Put the bacon in, and bake for 7 minutes, flip, then bake for 7 more minutes. Drain the oil and set the bacon on paper towels to soak up grease. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and begin caramelizing your onions on low-medium heat. This process takes a bit, so practice patience, stir occasionally, and get them nice and caramelized (this should take about 25 minutes). Whisk together your eggs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Dijon mustard. Spray a baking pan. Lay a layer of caramelized onions down, then sprinkle chopped bacon on top. Pour your egg mixture over. Add more onions and bacon. Top with shredded cheddar and broken up croissants. Add a little more shredded cheddar and spoonfuls of cream cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Top with chives before serving.View original recipe
