A comforting hot cocoa recipe infused with the warm flavors of orange and cardamom, topped with a maple whipped cream.

For the hot cocoa: Add dark chocolate bars, whole milk, half & half, a tiny pinch of sea salt, 10 crushed cardamom pods, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 2 cinnamon sticks, and zest from 3/4 of an orange to a pot. Heat on low until the chocolate is melted. Simmer for 15 minutes for all the flavors to combine. For the maple whip: In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup heavy whipping cream and 3 tbsp maple syrup. Whip with a hand mixer until fluffy, about 5-6 minutes. To serve: Strain the hot cocoa into a mug and top with the maple whip and fresh orange zest. Enjoy!
